GLOBAL COMMUNITY OF PLAYSTUDIOS PLAYERS RALLIES TO RAISE $50,000 FOR ALZHEIMER’S RESEARCH
Funds will support Las Vegas’ Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health
LAS VEGAS – Once more, the global community of PLAYSTUDIOS players has gone beyond expectations to support a life-changing cause. The mobile gaming leader is celebrating the generosity of their players during Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, having raised $50,000 in player donations that will go directly to Las Vegas’ Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. Throughout the month of June, players exchanged myVIP loyalty points earned during free gameplay for $1, $5, and $10 donations to the Center to support Alzheimer’s disease research.
“Time and again, our players have shown they are willing to use their rewards to create real change in the world around them,” explains PLAYSTUDIOS Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer Andrew Pascal. “The Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health is one of our community’s most impactful nonprofits, and with as many as 44 million people living with Alzheimer’s worldwide, including more than six million in the United States, we must make every effort possible to support researchers developing treatments and, someday, a cure for this disease.
“We are incredibly grateful and couldn’t be prouder to be associated with our family of players.”
The Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health opened in 2009 in the Symphony Park area of Downtown Las Vegas. The facility is dedicated to treating patients with neurological diseases and has become a national resource for research into Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis and Huntington’s disease, among others.
“Until we find treatments that prevent or alter the course of Alzheimer’s disease, millions more will suffer and die from this epidemic scourge in the years to come. PLAYSTUDIOS and its worldwide community of players has made a powerful statement by recognizing this global threat and banding together to support the science necessary to confront it,” said Dylan Wint, M.D., director of the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. “We are profoundly grateful for their generosity, which will fuel critical research in our battle against Alzheimer’s disease, the most common cause of dementia.”
“Philanthropy is at the heart of PLAYSTUDIOS’ mission, and we are always looking for ways to extend our efforts beyond what we do internally through our playmakers,” says PLAYSTUDIOS Chief Purpose & People Performance Officer Stephanie Rosol, who heads the Philanthropic Committee known as the PLAYSTUDIOS Impact Fund for the company. “By offering players the opportunity to make an impact, we are able to extend our efforts beyond our office and into the world, raising awareness and keeping the spotlight on this critical cause beyond Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month.”
In addition to making donations to support the Center, PLAYSTUDIOS and its players spread the word throughout June on social media with the hashtags #KeepMemoryAlive, #GoPurple, and #ENDALZ.
