We are heartbroken by the devastating events unfolding in Israel and the Gaza Strip. There is never a justification for the horrific acts of violence Hamas has committed against Israeli civilians. We condemn all those who have carried out and supported these acts of terrorism. We pray for the victims and their families and stand in solidarity with the people of Israel.
Today, we are focused on safeguarding and supporting our playMAKERS who work from our Tel Aviv studio. We are providing them with a range of services that include emergency travel and relocation assistance, emergency financial assistance, programming for at-home children, and social / emotional assistance for those dealing with grief and trauma.
Through our philanthropic PLAYSTUDIOS Impact Fund, and in partnership with our player community, we are supporting two highly regarded humanitarian relief organizations that are currently on the ground, working to address the immediate and long-term needs of those who are impacted by this crisis: World Central Kitchen and israAID.
Founded in 2010, World Central Kitchen has increasingly become known for being first to the front lines, bringing food to people who are impacted by crisis. They are presently activating a regional network of local resources to feed those who are being displaced, within Israel, Gaza, and the surrounding areas.
For over 22 years, israAID has been at the forefront of responding to major crises worldwide, from earthquakes and hurricanes to epidemics and forced displacement. While israAid has been active in more than 60 countries, it is now working—for the first time—within Israel to connect, support, and strengthen the humanitarian initiatives already underway.
In addition to these efforts, we have begun implementing our crisis response / business continuity plan. As a global game studio, with a presence in the US, Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East, there is already a level of distributed capacity, systems redundancy, and long-distance collaboration built into our regular operating practices. This affords us the flexibility we need to adapt to the changing conditions in Israel and the region.
In the days ahead, we will continue to do everything we can to care for and support our colleagues, collaborate with our incredible reward partners, and deliver great gaming experiences to our players. But above all, we hope that someday soon, these cycles of violence and suffering will end and an era of tolerance, justice, and stability will come to this beautiful and sacred land.
